I. Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Q1.<\/strong> What are the differences between program students and non-program students?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Students admitted to the program<\/strong> may enroll in Hakka Program courses during the first round of course selection. Please note that regardless of whether you are a program student or not, once you complete the required courses and credits, you may apply for a Program Certificate.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q2.<\/strong> Can I apply for the Hakka Language Program while I am also enrolled in another program?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Each student may apply for up to two programs<\/strong> and may hold qualifications for different programs at the same time.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q3.<\/strong> If I am already planning to extend my study period, can I still apply for the program?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192If, upon evaluation, you are able to complete all program courses before graduation, you are welcome to register and apply.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Do I need to submit an autobiography (personal statement)?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192According to the current application regulations, students only need to complete the registration process through the Academic Affairs Office\u2019s Program Application System within the designated application period. No additional documents are required.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

II. Course Selection <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Add-Drop Procedures<\/strong><\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Students from the NTU System (\u4e09\u6821\u7cfb\u7d71)<\/strong> should select courses through their home university\u2019s course selection system in accordance with each school\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Non-NTU System students<\/strong> who wish to take courses at NTU must register through the Intercollegiate Course Application System for Non-NTU Students<\/em>, print the application form, fill it out, and submit it directly to the NTU Office of Academic Affairs.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q1.<\/strong> I have already received approval for \u201ccredit recognition\/waiver,\u201d but why am I still blocked from enrolling in certain courses?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Applications for credit transfer and recognition processed by colleges serve only as documentation for waiving certain program courses when applying for a Program Certificate. They are not connected to the course selection system<\/strong>. If you wish to take an intermediate or advanced course but are blocked because you did not take the prerequisite introductory course, please request an authorization code from the instructor after the course begins.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q2.<\/strong> A program student registered for Course \u25cb\u25cb\u25cb but did not get in. Isn\u2019t there supposed to be enrollment priority for program courses?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Because the number of program students is very high, program students may have priority in program course selection, but enrollment is still subject to the final allocation results of the Academic Affairs Office.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q3.<\/strong> Too many courses are restricted, making it almost impossible to take program courses in the first year. Could adjustments be made so that fewer courses have enrollment restrictions?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192To ensure appropriate course levels and protect learning outcomes, students are expected to have a certain level of Hakka proficiency before enrolling in higher-level courses. This is to avoid situations where students without any foundation cannot keep up with the class.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q4.<\/strong> If I did not take the Hakka Language course last semester, can I still enroll in the course offered next semester?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192Please consult the course instructor directly. If the instructor approves, they may issue you an authorization code to add the course.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q5.<\/strong> Can NTU exchange students add courses at this school?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192As long as you have obtained the instructor\u2019s authorization and the authorization code, you may add the course.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q6.<\/strong> I want to take Course \u25cb\u25cb as an elective, but the NTU system only allowed three students and I wasn\u2019t able to get in. After checking, I found that the NTU Alliance does not allow paper add-drop requests in the third week. Is there any other way (e.g., increasing the quota or issuing authorization codes) to secure a place in this course?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192You may also attend the first class session in Week 1 and ask the instructor for approval. If approved, the instructor will provide an authorization code for you to add the course through the system.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

III. Program Certificate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Application Method<\/strong><\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Students who have completed the required courses and credits of the program should download the application form from the College of Liberal Arts website (opens in a new window)<\/a>. The completed application form, transcript (please highlight the program courses with a highlighter), and proof of approved credit exemptions or recognitions must be submitted to the Dean\u2019s Office of the College of Liberal Arts (Qin 303). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the review process requires at least one week.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q1.<\/strong> If I complete all the program credits first and then apply for program admission, can I directly receive the certificate?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 To encourage participation, the program allows students without official program enrollment to still apply for a program certificate as long as they have completed the required credits.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q2.<\/strong> Besides the certificate, will my completion of the credit program be indicated on my diploma?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Program completion will not be indicated on the graduation diploma.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Q3.<\/strong> If I have already completed the graduation process \/ graduated, can I still apply for the credit program certificate?<\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 There is no time limit for applying for the program certificate. Graduates may still submit an application after graduation, but please note that the review process takes approximately 1\u20132 weeks.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

IV. Credit Recognition \/ Exemption<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 The maximum number of credits that may be recognized or exempted is 8. Please download the application form from the Credit Program section of the College of Liberal Arts website. Complete the form and upload it together with the required documents to the online application system before the add\/drop deadline or before the final exam period ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
