Development History

The Hakka Language and Culture Teaching and Research Center at the College of Liberal Arts, National Taiwan Normal University, was established in 2024. It is dedicated to promoting Hakka language education and advancing Hakka language proficiency and cultural cultivation within the Taiwan University System. The Center has established the “Hakka Language Program” and continues to design and offer a comprehensive and diverse range of Hakka language courses, research directions in Hakka culture, and initiatives to enhance proficiency in Hakka and other local languages.

Educational Mission

The Center aims to cultivate talents proficient in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Hakka, who are also capable of understanding, preserving, and innovating Hakka culture, thereby fostering the sustainable development of local languages and cross-cultural exchange.

1. Competitions: Organizing Hakka reading, writing, and speech contests to inspire learning interest.

2.Hakka Cultural Experience Camps: Organizing visits to Hakka settlements across Taiwan to deepen cultural understanding.

3.Hakka Chatrooms: Providing after-class exchange platforms to encourage practical use of the language.

4.Hakka Cultural Season: Hosting a series of events to showcase the diverse aspects of Hakka language and culture.

5.Tung Blossom Scholarship: Encouraging outstanding students who engage in Hakka learning and cultural promotion.
