About The Program of Hakka Language and Culture

Since 2024

In alignment with the national language policy, this program aims to foster a multilingual and inclusive environment. It focuses on enhancing students’ Hakka language proficiency and cultural literacy at the university level. The curriculum includes compulsory courses designed to build foundational Hakka language skills. Additionally, elective courses are offered across three domains: “Linguistic Studies,” “Hakka Literature,” and “Hakka Ethnicity and Culture.” These courses integrate Hakka language and culture into students’ daily lives. The program also establishes course exemption policies based on the levels achieved in the Hakka Language Proficiency Test, thereby encouraging students to actively pursue and obtain Hakka language certifications.
